TL;DR: New digs, same food.
Recently returned here after a few years away. El Gran Rodeo moved a few doors down, but in the same parking lot.
New digs: What looks to be the old Friday's. Lots of TVs. We watched some Liga MX soccer games. Which reminds me of the restaurant in Anchorage where my wife and I watched the 2014 World Cup. We each sat facing a TV, but did not realize each TV played different first round games until I mentioned how Mexico was playing and she said, no that's Brazil. I see a guy in a sombrero waving El Tri and said, "I assure you, that's Mexico.' We both turned around and realized what was going on, then laughed.
On to the food:
Complimentary chips and house salsa.
We took care of both quickly.
Entrees:
Chori-Pollo for both of us.
Large portions of chicken, rice, refried beans and chorizo, with flour tortillas.
The chicken and chorizo flavors worked well together.
Big enough for leftovers.
Drinks:
Mister Pibb, Iced Tea, Water. Huge glasses.
Dessert: Mexican Fried Ice Cream. Delicious strawberry sauce and chocolate drizzle.
Service: Great, quick service. Very friendly.
Parking: A snap. Very convenient to southbound 202.
Overall: We should come here more often! Huge menu and great service.
Return: Yes. -

I actually fucking hate this restaurant every time I come here I have the douchey-est time.
I used to come here back when a lunchtime margarita was somewhere between $3.75 (for a small) and $5.50 for a large. Now they charge $9 for the small and $12 for the large.
Total rip off if you had to ask me when you can get a full handle of the same shit down the street for $19. -

This is our favorite Mexican place to eat since the day it opened.
Tonight friends of our went with us since they have moved, the service was terrible. If this was our first time we would never go back.
Waiting for our table the bartender didn't have the right size glasses for the drinks we wanted then she got the orders wrong. Ok no big deal. After waiting for our table it went downhill from here instead of up.
Our waiter Miguel was the worse service ever to be had.
Not only could he not understand a word of our order ( thank god our friend with us speaks great Spanish) but the order was still wrong. We had to ask for utensils and napkins several times it took me 4 times asking to get a glass of water. Asks for more chips 5 times.
But the fact he didn't speak much English was horrible. Our friend got out of him it was only his 3 rd day..... why would you put a new guy on one of your busiest nights????
The food here is always good the service is hit or miss mostly hit.
Tonight was the worst service ever. -

I'm giving this place 2stars because of the waitress. She was the only good thing about eating here. The food was not seasoned.. we ordered 3 chicken, 2 shrimp and 1 fish tacos. The chicken taco was very Soggy which made the tortilla also soggy. The shrimp taco had no seasoning/salt. We didn't try the fish taco due to the bad experience with the chicken and shrimp.

Mediocre Mexican food slapped together for undiscerning palates.
Came here after a long afternoon of family fun at Oasis and decide to check this place out before looking at yelp reviews. And boy was I 100% not surprised by the lack luster reviews. First of all, the staff seemed very short with me when they couldn't understand my order of 1x el pastor 1x steak and 2x 2 shrimp tacos and a chile relleno. I guess they are more use to people ordering by combo # or what have you.
My tacos came and the shrimp taco was is a soggy soft shell with nothing in it other than the shrimp itself and some brown sauce. The shrimp tasted pretty good but the sauce made the tortilla very unappealing texturally. The el pastor and steak tacos were pretty good, they were a little bigger than I expected but that's OK. I don't think the addition of pineapples to the el pastor was needed but both were slightly above average. My chile relleno was bland and forgettable.
Since I was with a large group, I was able to try some of the other dishes and none of it blew me away, all just variations of red sauce, cheese and meat. Also pro tip, do not order any hard tacos, they are dryer than a saltine's fart and the meat tastes like cardboard.
On the plus side, the chips gets free refills and the guacamole was good but could use a little more lime. All in all an unimpressive lower tiered tex mex place that serves some food... I guess.
